This book was a royal disappointment. Garrett was annoying with his overprotectiveness anybody would think Jackie was his daughter not his mate ugh. It's one thing to be concerned and worried but he would flat out attempt to make decisions for her. I just can't bring myself to be interested in Charlie or his side adventures. I really like Isaiah and what he brings to the story.
"Blood Spelled" is part of a series ("Rogues Shifter Series") that had branched out into a trilogy featuring Charlie. Now we return to Jackie's point of view, and I didn't realize how much I'd missed her! She's such a funny, flawed, immensely strong character. And this return to Jackie brings changes to her powers and new challenges in the training she must endure. It's a tightly written story filled with surprises, and, as with all of Parness's other books, there is no wasted space. Even the humor--and, thankfully, there is always a good deal of that--plays an important part in the narrative as well as the character development. What a great ride!
I love this author.
I'm addicted to the Rogues Shifter series! You never know what trouble the key characters are going to get into. Parness can capture her readers within the first few pages.
