I did not enjoy this book at all. The characters were two dimensional, bland and not at all consistent, they were not unique and seemed to change their personality very often throughout the book. The youngest character Drake who was supposed to be around six years old spoke and acted unrealistically for the age they were supposed to be. The book was mainly about the character Emily learning to let go of her past but it was made clear at a point in the book that Jake had also experienced extreme tragedy as he had an alcoholic father that blamed him for the death of his mother but as soon as this fact is learned you hear about it very rarely again and the terrible things he is going through seem to be swept to the side as if they do not matter. The romance in the book was also one of the main focuses of the book but I didn't like it as they fell in love very quickly for reasons that went unexplained, their emotions not only towards each other but throughout the whole book was never described in much detail and the love they felt for each other did not seem very real because of this as I felt that their emotions were being told to me without being explained or described. Their reactions to then events in the last few chapters was unrealistic as they VERY quickly got over it and again brushed a very important and tragic detail we learn about the main characters past in those last few chapter aside. The described reactions of the teachers there was unrealistic towards the events as what happen Dec would have merited for much much more than a few "apologetic looks" as what happened was illegal and very morally wrong. In conclusion I do not recommend this book as it lacks character and plot developmentProduct details

Sweetness Bold As Love Book 1 eBook Lindsay Paige Reviews
I have to say that I was a little skeptical when I found out that a high-schooler wrote this book.
After reading it, though, I have to retract any skepticism that I may have had!! THIS WAS AN AMAZING READ!!
Emily has a troubled past. Not one you would expect for a girl in high school. I love that the author takes her time in introducing us to why exactly Emily is the way that she is. Underneath this scared and broken girl is something truly special. Something that Jake, the oh so adorable star hockey player sees right away.
What can I say, I'm a sucker for anything and everything that is hockey. AND, throw in a shot-out to my beloved Pittsburgh Penguins and I'm hooked!! I about died when this girl dropped Sidney Crosby's name. I love that hockey is used as a way to help Emily come out of her shell....
Jake...what can I say about Jake. I think he's the guy that everyone one of us dreamed about in high school. Caring, supportive, hot, sweet....that's him. I didn't go into this book with any great expectations on the relationship between Emily and Jake....but boy, was I pleasantly surprised.
Drake, Jake's super cute 7 year old brother. I couldn't help but think of my son (who's about the same age) the whole time I read about him. He helps to pull Emily even further away from the CRAP she had to go through. Without giving anything away, she needs all the help she can get.
I am anxious to read "I'm Yours"...I'm sure it will be even more AWESOMESAUCE than this one!!
Outstanding job!! Read it, loved it, reviewed!!!
I was drawn in by the tall, athletic handsome guy with the gorgeous eyes.
I always am.
But that didn't guarantee my vote for the book. It just guaranteed a chance.
"Sweetness" is as the title implies (believe me if you dare!) Jake and Emily go strong and push through their fears wonderfully. But honestly, I was looking for the plot. Yes, both characters have a troubled past but neither history seems to have an immediate impact during the story. I'd say they 'cause bumps along the way. That's all. I'm surprised these bumps are taken so lightly and while that is admirable, I was in search the conflict. That's what makes the story. I was bored of reading Jake's whispers of "sweetness" and a little unconvinced at the circumstances at which they are initially brought together.
The writing is great, the characters are strong and very much caring, especially for one another. But simply put, I'm sorry I'm being so blunt, but I became boring quite quickly.
The premise is good, this book has all the makings of a good book, but i have issues. The quick progression of this book is ridiculous and completely unrealistic. The story just stops, it's not a cliff hanger, it just ends. Nothing is resolved. There are a few phones calls from her mysterious mother that traumatized her, but we never find out why she called and she never turns up. The ending just feels lazy, like the author just didn't want to finish the book, or would rather write the second half as a sequel to make more money. I won't be paying for further books in this series. This is a free download or 99 cent buy at the most.
This is the most robotic book I have read in a long time. People don't talk like this! People don't change characteristics as easy as blinking an eye. At one point she is so scared, and the next as carefree like nothing horrific has happened in her life. Her mom abuses her, but I think the author is going for Stockholm syndrome on-top of the over-the-top dramatics, because she keeps saying my mom is my best friend. Huh?
The little boy Drake - really? This kid doesn't talk like an elementary kid, but rather a middle or high schooler. Why is she ok with him, but not everyone else? Just didn't make sense or add up!
Spoiler alert posting naked pics of an underage girl is child pornography! No teacher would stand around and allow this! And how she handles this - nope not buying it! This is the most flip-flop full of so many plots book I have ever read! Gah!!!!! Needs serious storyline, character consistency work.
